The frameworks hidden in what you watch and read. Extracted, and filed in a vault you own.
You watched a two-hour podcast last week. Somewhere in it was the one idea worth keeping.
You saved an article months ago. It is still unread, and once read it will fade by next quarter.
Multiply that by every video, essay, and book this year. Most of it is gone.
Other tools summarize. Gistify It extracts the frameworks underneath: the mental models, methods, and playbooks an expert was teaching. Paste a link, pick a pattern, review the note, and it is written as tagged markdown into your Obsidian vault. The same file imports into Notion. Your vault is the home.
macOS and Windows. The beta has closed. Version 1.0 is next, and the list hears when it ships.
Features
A lot goes in. One note comes out.
Gistify It does the extraction and the tagging. Your vault does the keeping.
Frameworks, not summaries
A summary tells you what was said. Gistify It pulls out the mental models, methods, and playbooks underneath, in a shape you can apply to your own work.
Your vault is the home
Each note is written as tagged markdown into the folder you choose, inside your Obsidian vault or anywhere else. The same file imports into Notion. Nothing touches the vault until you review and save.
Works on what you already consume
A YouTube link, an article link, pasted text, a PDF of up to 20 pages, or up to 5 images. For a podcast, paste its YouTube link or the transcript. Everything is fetched on your own machine.
No prompts, no tinkering
Paste, pick one curated pattern, and the note is ready in about a minute and a half. The patterns are written and maintained for you. Nothing to set up, no API key to find.
How it works
From a link to a note in your vault.
Paste
A YouTube link, an article link, text, a PDF, or a few images. The app reads it on your own machine.
Pick a pattern
One curated pattern per run, such as Extract Frameworks or Summarize Podcast. There is no prompt to write.
Review and save
About a minute and a half later, read the finished note. Nothing touches your vault until you save. Then it is a tagged markdown file in your folder, ready for Obsidian or Notion.
Why we built this
The time you spend learning should not be lost to you.
Most of what we watch and read does not stay. We are building this for the person who wants what they learn today to still shape how they think and decide years from now.
The work on the surface is small: a paste box, a pattern, a note in your vault. What it is reaching toward is not small.
